Frequently Asked Questions.
What does Bon Temps mean?
Bon Temps is French for good times. It comes from the New Orleans expression, “Laissez les bon temps rouler!” Meaning, “Let the good times roll!” A distinctly New Orleans outlook on life that we apply to each of our book selections. We want every book we recommend to bring good times for you and your reader.
What is lagniappe, and how do I get it?
Lagniappe is a New Orleans word for a little something extra. You can easily get it by referring us to your friends. Then, when they sign up for a new subscription (3 months or more), you both get a little lagniappe in your next box. It’s that easy.
How do you pick books?
Great question! We read whatever we can get our hands on, as well as suggestions and submissions from you! Read the full article here.
You don’t talk about my favorite book!
Oh no! Your favorite? Well, by all means, we must know about it this instant! Drop us a link to it on our contact us page or tag us on social media, asking us to review it. We love recommendations (especially if it is your favorite)!
I’m an author/agent. Will you review my children’s book?
Absolutely! We love supporting authors and are always looking for great books to read and recommend. Please get in touch with us at: submissions@bontempsbooks.com with whether you are submitting an e-version or a physical copy, and we will contact you with more information. Heads up: we do prefer the physical copy. There is something about holding the book in our hands to really impress the connection with a book.
How are you eco-conscious?
Being carbon-neutral and social justice oriented is at the forefront of everything we do. Everything we believe in is interconnected; you cannot have one without the other. Our full sustainability practice is here.
What’s Your Refund Policy?
The short answer is: if you’re not happy, we want to make it better. The full version is here.
